Gazebo Proposal

Niagara Wedding Photographer

Joe's plan went off without a hitch - a beautiful day spent exploring Niagara on the Lake, a tasty dinner shared at the Pillar and Post, concluded by a romantic horse and carriage ride that led them to the place where he would ask the question. "Violet," he asked, "Will you marry me?" Of course she said yes, and I was there to capture it all! It's a great honour to be a small part of some of the most important moments that couples get to share. Congratulations again you two!

You know me inside and out, you know every bone in my body; You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something. Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth; all the stages of my life were spread out before you, the days of my life all prepared before I’d even lived one day.

Surprise Proposal

Alexander Mills Photography, Niagara region fine art wedding photographer.

Hidden silently in the forest amongst many bugs and beetles, I had front row seats to a very special surprise proposal.  At the exact location of their very first date, Jordan prepared an evening to celebrate over two years of dating.  An unsuspecting Jess was enjoying her meal when Jordan presented her with a gift wrapped box.  As she opened the box to find nothing inside, Jess looked up to find Jordan on his knee, ready to ask the most important question of his life. The rest, as they say, is history.

Burroughs Family

I met the Burroughs family down at the waterfront in Niagara on the Lake - a place where they spend most of their summer evenings.  A special location proved to be great scenery for some very special family photos that will look great printed and hung on the wall!

Family is not an important thing. It’s everything.

Birds of Ontario

I went over to Silversmith Brewing Company the other night to hear my friend Matt and his counterpart Eric play some music as "Birds of Ontario".  I always enjoy myself when these two are playing their originals, so I brought my camera along to capture the evening.  You can find their show dates and hear some of their music on their Facebook page.

The only thing not frozen is my mind, and it’s funny because all the things that matter down there mean nothing to me now.

Brandon and Renae

From the flowers to the food, from the venue to the guests, Brandon and Renae's wedding personified a celebration of family.  Every moment of their special day was shared with the ones they love, and the love was definitely contagious!  Their reception sat on top of a picturesque hill, overlooking family farmland and the large red barn where the reception was held.  Boasting the town's newest firetruck, Captain Verboom whisked his bride away to make a toast to their life together with their friends by their side.  The night culminated with great food, lots of laughter, and dancing that ceased to rest with the sun.  It was such a privilege of mine to be a part of Brandon and Renae's beautiful wedding day!

Winter Birthday

Who says I can't have my birthday outside?

This exuberant 5-year old decided to invite his friends (and bundled up parents) to enjoy an afternoon of competitive hockey and post game hot chocolate.  Although the temperature was colder than the average 5 year old's party, the warmth of joy and celebration was shared amongst everyone.

Instead of gifts, this little man asked of his friends that they bring non-perishable items that he could donate of their behalf to the local Community Care.

Aaron, Kaley, Lincoln, and Nevaya

This family of 4 (soon to be 5)  is always such a pleasure to shoot.  Aaron and Kaley wanted some outdoor family photos before the leaves started to fall, so we headed out to a local conservation area to take advantage of the weather.  Lincoln and Nevaya were full of exuberance, and made this photographer's job an easy one.
